Topic: RE: Maytorena or Arellano? Anyone have anything to say

My dad just had surgery with Maytorena. My father is himself a physician... so we recommend him completely. Besides he is in charge of the most affordable REAL bariatric program we've ever heard about. It is their share what they cut, not quality care. So you need not to worry about that. ;)

My surgeon worked along with my primary doctor here in the states, I didn't fight much with reflux, but I did have it, so they gave me medication, and had to fix my diet a little...besides I don't eat after 7pm..that also helps.

Topic: RE: anyone have lapband in Tijuana Mexico?

I had the lap band in Tijuana 8 years ago unfortunately bandied didn't work for me and I had to have another surgery to remove it. I can't tell you if it happened because the doctor or me, but the lap band didn't stop me to eat, and now I am going to have a gastric bypass in Monterrey Mexico with dr Roberto Rumbaurt, highly recommended for one of my best friends who lives there.

Topic: RE: gastric sleeve done by Mario Almanza

I used bariatricpal.com, I know he has some sort of advertising on this page, but they don't really promote him as their team, they use, Dr. zavalza, Ponce de Leon, Dr. j. Lopez, I met them all, they are great doctors, but felt more comfortable with LOPEZ, he's a great person, and did a great job, didn't have any complications, and I'm already 55 pounds off.. you can do your research on them, and they even Skype with you before and after surgery, they have great follow up after surgery... give it a chance.

Topic: RE: Should I bring a companion??

I had my surgery done in Mexico and brought my brother with me, but since I had a coordinator and all the staff at the hospital and recovery house treated me so good, I think I would have been ok if I was alone, just pack simple, and yes, you'll be on medication, but nothing to worry about...you'll do just great...GOOD LUCK!!

Is she still doing surgery?

Thanks

I also did a research on her, and since a live close to Tijuana, I know a few people over there, and she has had patients with a lot of complications, they told me an 18 year old patient died on her internal bleeding, so I discarded using her, instead I used Dr. J. Lopez, they have a great team, they care about their patients, and my results are great.... never had any complication!!!

Topic: RE: elusive MX doctors

I used Dr. J. Lopez from bariatricpal.com, he owns his clinic, so there's no chance he'll be moving around, he does Skype with you, so do all the doctors they work with, I did great with my surgeon, I have really good results, and they really took good care of me, they have great all inclusive deals... you should give a chance.

I had the gastric sleeve instead, I did a research and found that it was a better option, I went into bariatricpal.com and had a great deal with DR. J. LOPEZ, I've been doing Skype with him or his staff since then, before and after surgery, they took really good care of me and you get to bring someone with you. I'm 55 pounds of already and feeling great.

I'm researching a lot too. At first I decided on the bypass because my insurance did not cover the sleeve. Now that I'm self paying I can do either. I'm worried about the sleeve and reflux. It can get worse sometimes with the sleeve. I definitely don't want that to happen.

I did not have the RNY in Mexico but rather the sleeve.  I used Dr. Fernando Garcia of tijuanabariatrics.com and went directly to his company, rather than going through a coordinator such as Ready4aChange.  He does the RNY too.  I have to say that they have not really been in touch with me since surgery though.
