I am new here and just found the Michigan forum. I am in the Adrian area so I am too far south unfortunately for you guys. Has anyone had their surgery at the Barix Clinic in Ypsi? I am not scheduled yet for mine but should have a date by the end of this week.

I'm sorry I haven't answered lately, just came back on the Michigan side. Doesn't seem to be a lot of people who post on this side anyway, so I hardly come on here.

I see Dr. Pesta did your surgery! He is a good man, I had Dr. Marshall as my surgeon and he is excellent!! Crazy, funny but excellent! I had my surgery the day after yours....how are you holding up? Maybe one day as you are losing your weight you'll be able to walk with me....other than that I'm OK with keeping in touch.

I really do not know much about him but, I am a nurse in a rehab and one of our residents is a Pt of his and his office and nutritionist have been very helpful to me.

I havent been able to find very many, (or recent) testimonials on him. Just curious for success rates!

Papya tablets sold at GNC for a bout 4 buck a bottle they are healthy and work well with gas and stuck food.

I hear ya..... I would love to find some near me.. I am in Pinckney which is near the Brighton/Howell area.... not far from Ann Arbor either, but I spend more time the other way..... I never seem to be able to find anyone to get together with....

I do have overweight friends that want to work out with me on my Wii Fit, but they never seem to show up when we plan it..... GRRRRRRR!!!! Would love to be on the treadmill while they are on the Wii Fit and then alternate... That would be the bomb!!!!

You quit smoking so you deserve a treat, right? That's how I gained 50 pounds in one year. It's all in your head, the smoking, the snacking, the instant gratification. I know it, you know it and we both know how to fix it. Just say, "I don't do that anymore." Make it your mantra for smoking, snacking, grazing, whatever.

I don't live far from Pinckney and would love an activity that doesn't cost money. I do some Zumba at the Howell Aquatic Center, but not much. I'm lazy you see. I like to walk and share thoughts about this WLS journey. How does that sound to you?

Hi Nick,

I have no complaints with Dr. Krause. He was great, his office has been great, Sue has been fantastic. I saw the gastroenterologist at Maple Medical, and he's the guy I don't want to see again.

Side note....I went through Unasource Comprehensive Weight Loss Center, they're affiliated with Beaumont and Dr. Doyle has worked with Dr. Krause for a really long time. Beaumont won't talk to me because I didn't go through their program.

My experience with Dr Krause and his office partner Dr. Jury (Whom I have known since we were kids) is that they both are amongst the finest surgeons I have ever met. I was pleased and impressed with all of the Doctors that they have referred me to. I would stay with anyone they recommend because they have never steered me wrong. But if I have a recommendation it would be to call up the Beaumont Weight Loss Center in the morning and tell them your problem. The will fit you in that day and answer any and all questions on the spot. Dr Zalisan has done this for me several times. The gastro doctor I was sent to is very busy and in demand, but I had a serious complication, early out, and he pulled me through it. I saw him so often, while I was in the hospital that you would think that I was his only patient.

I'm here, sorry I didn't answer any earlier. I live in Warren and would love to communicate. I have a problem with the walking and bowling activities. I had my surgery on Jul 12th and seem to be doing ok with it. I have MS and am confined to a wheelchair. I can't do the walking. I do alot of arm exercises in my chair and I have a motorized exersice bike for my legs. And believe it or not it does help. I can't go walking with you but would love to keep in touch.
