I agree with the other poster, as long as you are a lap surgery you should be okay.
Be sure since you have a desk job to get up and walk around your desk a few times every hour.
Take sips, sips while you are working.
When you get home you probably will need to take a nap.
Naps are good. Listen to your body.

So how are you doing with the Impact today?
I'm thinking about you, just remember it's only for a short time. You can do this!
I'm rooting you on, keeping looking forward! Hugs Debbie

As long as you have a laparoscopic procedure with no complications, you'll probably be fine to return to work after a week. I work from home at a desk job and was back to work at a week and feeling pretty much back to normal after 2 weeks. Just make sure to plan to bring along your protein shakes, liquid foods to work with you:)

Good luck!

Topic: Time Off From Work After Surgery?
Hi.

My paid time off runs out a week after my surgery.  I live just under 4 miles from my office and can carpool if I"m not allowed to drive.

I have a desk job, is that going to be an issue returning to work?  It would be three days, then we're off again for three days because of the Memorial Day weekend.

Any input would be fabulous!

Thanks!

Topic: RE: All Michigan Support Groups -- let's make a list!
Anything in or near Royal Oak?  My insurance company says they wont cover post-operative support groups, then something else said they would, and I'm not going to comment on calling in.  It just seems like any that I find cost a rediculous amount of money (because now I put rediculous amounts of money into my gas tank).  My mom had wls a few years ago and had nothing but unhappy things to say about the groups...she said they were all depressing and she struggled enough with depression.

I have surgery coming up in 14 days...from today.  I'm getting a bit freaked out.  I'd like to hook up with other wls peoples who are cruisin right along.  I wouldn't mind some new friends in my circle either.

:D

A little over 4 years ago...2 weeks of IMPACT!! Yucky I know...and this is what I did.....
Pour over a large glass of ice, use a straw, put straw as far back of tongue as you can go and drink and think happy thoughts.
I think it's that "oily taste" that can get to some of us. Good luck and know that there is a prize at the end of your liquid diet...Surgery and a new life with excellent health.
Just know you won't have to drink Impact after surgery (unless your doc orders it)
I like the EAS Protein shakes, they are the only ones I can tolerate and that's on lots of ice too.
I do remember the very last day I could only get 3 Impact's down without hurling...and I never cheated on my 2 week liquid diet either. Made it though Easter Sunday drinking Impact. LOL...Somethings you never forget. Hang in there, be strong and positive. YOU can do this!
