SURGERY DATE CHANGE

Apparently Dr. Benn is not in on the 15th - so I had two options -

Go with the 8th which is one week away and not an option ... or to wait until the 16th and do the surgery at 12:00 that day.

I don't like having surgery mid-day since it gives you too much time to get nervous once you wake up.. but I guess I have to suck it up.

My NEW date is the 16th!

Sorry to hear about the date change, but one day isn't a huge change.  My surgery was scheduled for 12:45, so I know how you feel about the late time.  I kind of liked it because it made it easier to get there - no rush hour traffic, no getting up at 3 am, and since I have 3 kids, no waking them and their caretaker for the day at 3 am.

I am sure you will need to be at the hospital at least 2 hours early, so it won't be so bad.  Once you get there they keep you busy.  I wasn't really nervous at that point - more like numb.  I was hungry, but that was the least of what I was thinking about.  I asked for some Versed before surgery to help with anxiety - I also didn't want to walk into the surgery room.  It really helped.  Make sure you let them know if you want something for nerves.

It will be here before you know it!

That stinks about the change of date and having it later in the day, but it will be fine.  My surgery was at 11, course you gotta get there 2 hours (or was it 2.5?) early. 

I think its worth the wait. Dr. Benn is awesome. Wishing you all the best on your surgery!!!

Well its only a day later...and just try to read or something that morning...or call me...LOL

You will be fine....just one more thing to worry about.

I have surgery 7-6-09 at 7:30...I have to be at the hospital at 5:30, that means leaving my house at 4:45...yikes..but YAY!
