January 30th!!!!

It was great to get my date but it was laso bittersweet because I found out that I will not be able to get the time off that I thought I could.  I think I've found a way to work it out though.  It will work out because I want this!!!

I have to go Tuesday for my H and P appointment.  Can anyone explain why my support person has to be there that day? I will get the Optifast Tuesday and start on Friday.  My husband's birthday is today and he's chosen to go to Pizza Hut.  I told someone yesterday that it would be my last pizza :)  That's a good thing though.

Congratulations!!! I know that you must be soooo excited.

I have to admit that I don't know what an H and P appointment is, so I can't help you with that question.

Wishing you all the best,

The reason my office stated that the support person needs to come is in case the support person has any questions. Also they should talk about what will happen when you have the surgery so this is good for your support person to hear.

How long will you be able to take off???

jan. 30th will be here before you know it. Make sure you have some before pictures taken (Hubby's Birthday will provide a great photo op). And take your measurements before hand as well.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations on getting your date.  I hope you can work out the time off to your advantage.  I was told the same things as Tamara said as to why the support person comes with you, plus they want to make sure your support person really will be there and be supportive so it is kind of a deal of "the least they can do is come to one appt."

Best of luck to you on everything! I had to bring my hubby to my appointment (dont know what h&P is) but he had to come so he would know what to expect while I was in the hospital and Dr. Mann explained all the risks of the surgery ect and after care for me. Best of luck to you!!!

H and P stands for history and physical.  I had mine with Dr. Mann 2 weeks ago and he went over the procedure with me and DH.  Explained before and after surgery and what he expected from me after surgery.  As far as the physical part he pressed on my tummy and that was about it.  They took my weight and vital signs.  I think more than anything they want to make sure that all patients are capable of handling the life change after surgery and make sure the support person understands the pros and cons.

Good luck to you.  Your surgery is 2 days after mine.

Sorry...I just assumed we all went through the same things. I should know by now that even thoughit's similar it's different for everyone.

Deborah, we'll have to compare notes.  Maybe we could chat during the time we're home.  I know I will be bored out of my mind not long after my time home starts.

I will take the 2 weeks...it's whether I will have money taken out of my check or not.  It's starting to stress me out but I know everything will work out at some point.  I'm the type of person who wants to know how right now.  It was excruciating waiting for that surgery date!!!

Thanks everyone!
