How many did Dr. Bernstein?
I did the diet and lost 40 lbs in less than 3 months. I did not do the transition after. IAfter struggling for many many years to lose weight and finally losing 40lbs there was no way I was going to gain that back.
First I didnt feel to eat the same old junk I did before and if I ate carbs like potatoes or bread it made me feel uncomfortable. I felt heavy or bloated so I just kept them very very minimal. I think it really comes to how bad you want to keep yourself feeling good.
why would anyone go back to those old habits after losing so much weight? We know its such a struggle and finally we did it!! finally! what an accomplishment I was incredibly proud of myself I looked awesome I felt awesome and put it in my head that there was no way I was going back there!!!
3 years later I'm still good. I actually quit smoking this february and did gain 8 lbs, the first weight gain since I lost 40 lbs 3 years ago. That was lack of activity and very careless eating. I am now working on taking that off which wiil be 2 weeks maximum because I know that bread pasta potatoes cheese are all the cause . They make you want to eat more. Those carbs fill you up but leave you craving more hence we eat more than we should and I know its sooooooooo hard to stop .. So i cut them out completely and when i reach my weight goal I just eat a tablespoon full or 1/4 cup of them IF i want them because any more than that triggers the craving for them :(
So it does work and bottom line is how bad do you want to keep yourself healthy. Its not really about losing it quickly or what diet you use, it is without a doubt how well can you control your mind to say "I'm not going back there. If you go back to the same habits you were doing before of course you will gain it all back no matter what after program any diet has..
Do you want to stay healthier, thinner, feel good, be happy or do you want to feel fat, bloated, tired, slouchy? What do you want?!!! What do YOU choose?! We all ave a choice unless there is some underlying medical issue, there is no excuse for weight gain. We are the ones who chose, nobody takes our hand and says "eat this" WE Choose!
All the best :)
