I am new here!!

Hello everyone,

I have been to my first group meeting in March. THey said 5 months until I get the first call to see the dietician. The surgery should come within 16 months.

I dont have any medical issues just that I weigh 255lbs. My BMI is 47 so that makes me 110 lbs overweight. I am a 47 year old Female with 4 sons, ages 26, 24, 20 and 17. WIth a beautiful 5 month old grand daughter. I want to be healthy and play and take her out for walks. This is the heaviest I have weighed.

I am really hoping I get approved. I have done lots of research and my neighbor had hers done in Sept. She looks amazing. She is smaller than me.

Looking forward to anything you have to say regarding RNY. It will be done either in Ottawa or Toronto. Depending on wait list.

Nov 2010-Referral for surgery, Feb 2011 rec'd paperwork, March 2011-attended orientation. Currently waiting for the appointment with the dietician.

welcome to the crowd. I'm sure you'll get approved, your BMI is in the range, and since you dont have health issues that would preclude surgery, you're good to go. You sound like you're prepared for things.
