I did put the scale away I checked my weight today because it's 3 weeks since surgery. I'm freaking out I feel so sad and depressed, in the back of my mind I keep thinking what if I'm not going to lose anything I went through all this for nothing. I'm so discourage and can't stop crying about. In my mind I think what if I'm one of those people that this doesn't work!!!!

Maybe your scale is wrong. You should go by your doctor's scale to be sure. I know that after the first week I started gaining because i was retaining fluid and constipated. There's a good chance this is the problem. You should be back at the doctor's in 1 week for your 1 month follow up. If your scales are not set the same as your doctor's there is going to be a difference. I think many of us had the same fear at the beginning. I know I did. Good luck and keep us posted and try to stay positive. I know it's hard but 'this too shall pass'.
Im pretty sure my scale is ok. And I'm not constipated. I'm just really freaking out. I tried talking to my fiancé about it and he just kind of dismissed, but I feel very sad and depressed.

honestly, ana. do the math. You're likely taking in under 1000 calories a day. Your body needs about 2000 calories to maintain your weight (assuming you're over 250 pounds).
Over time, you will lose weight. Weight is a volatile thing, it moves up and down, frequently. Your body is in that " What the hell just happened to me" mode, and desperately trying to keep things status quo. Here is something that someone posted in a facebook group that i'm in. This will work for you. It's only in the later stages that you can mess things up, not this early out.
again.. breathe. it'll be ok

It may be helpful to join a support group in your area. I recently have and feel so much better. I also find that I learn alot from talking to people at my clinic while I am in the waiting room. It's hard for people to understand entirely unless they are going through it. Try taking your measurements. Track your inches instead. I tend to judge my weight based on how loose my clothes feel. I know it can be difficult when you feel you are lacking support as well. I would suggest calling your clinic and asking to talk to the nurse or social worker. They might be able to help you cope right now. I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there. It will get better.
I am just over 4 weeks out and although I haven't gained I haven't lost as much as I thought I would have by now.....one thing I have noticed, I don't lose as much when I dont get in enough food, protein and water. It's like my body goes into starvation mode. Make sure you are walking as much as possible, getting lots of water and protein and eating what you should would be my best advice.
