Help 3 weeks out and gaining!!!!!
Your body is still healing from and reacting to major sugery! Not only did it go through a traumatic event physically but you are also suddenly eating MUCH less than you used to and your body is freaking out! You had it sliced and diced and now you're not feeding it...it is going to rebel. It is going to hold on to some of the weight for survival.
But don't worry...you will start to lose. You can't help but to lose because of the way your anatomy is now and the small amount you will be eating. Just be sure that you are doing everything your surgeon advised. Eat what you are supposed to, don't eat what you are not supposed to. At 3 weeks post-op you should be able to be walking on a regular basis for exercise.
It will happen. I know how stressful it is. I know the thoughts of being the only one who has ever failed at WLS...I had the same feelings a LOT. But it will happen.

I understand that you're freaking out, because we all expect the weight to drop drastically after this major change in our lives. For some people that is exactly what happens, but for others it takes time. We're all different, and our bodies react differently to the change. That the body is chocked and stressed is normal. Just think of it - all those wonderful empty calories, then surgery, and then ... nothing. It protests, and tries to grab what calories it can get to survive. This is so much about feelings and not just mathematics. My own weight loss is slow compared to others, and sometimes I freak out about it, but I always land on my feet and regain my calmness. Just continue to eat well and you will start losing those extra kilos in no time, I promise.
I've also heard that some people go into a stall at about 3-4 weeks. This is because the last part of your pouch is healing. (I know you have gained but it may be the same reason.) Also, is it that time of the month for you? My understanding is it takes more work to 'fail' at this than to succeed. If you're doing what you are supposed to be doing then it'll work for you. You just have to be patient!!
P.S. Feel free to remind me of this when I'm post-op and freaking out too!!
