Sugar Free Syrups

Hi Everyone,

Most of you probably know this, but me being new and all, this was a very exciting discovery for me today. I was looking for sugar free syrups as I start my OptiFast on Friday and found that both Torani and DaVinci don't ship to Canada  But I did find that you could purchase DaVinci syrups through the LowCarbGrocery.com and have it shipped, they also mentioned on their site that a number of stores in Ontario have mini-LowCarbGrocery stores inside.

I went to the local Nutrition House (one of the stores list on LowCarbGrocery.com) and found every flavour imaginable of Sugar Free DaVinci syrups at roughly the same price as you would buy online direct from their site. They also had a number of Walden Farms products (sugar free Pancakes, syrup, salad dressing and BBQ). They even had pretty good looking sugar free cookies (although I haven't tried any of these yet and can't attest to their flavour, everything looked okay).

Just a little FYI in case your looking for something new.

You can also buy the sugar free syrups at Starbucks and Home Sense.  And there are other places, like the low carb grocer in Markham.  I have a small variety in my cupboard of flavors, couldn't get by without them.

I second the cultured coffee bean. If you spend over $60 (I think) you get free shipping. Not sure how they ship though, so that might be something to keep in mind during the mail strike.

You can also get Torani at any Second Cup outlet.  If they don't have any SF, ask them to order it for you.  If you're at St. Joe's Hamilton, the Second Cup there has a great selection of SF Torani's.

I've also seen DaVinci at Fortino's at the cafe they have there.

I'm in my 2nd week of Optifast, and I found I haven't used any of the Torani I've purchased.  For the Vanilla, I've been using either Crystal Light or LorAnn Oils (available at Bulk Barn) for added flavour.  I even drink it straight, so long as it's really cold.
For the chocolate, I'll add chilled decaf coffee (about 1/2 and 1/2 with the water), or Banana Cream LorAnn Oil (Chocolate/Banana - MMMMmmmmm).  Or, again, straight-up if it's really cold.  I don't mind the taste at all.

Thanks for the heads up Beth. I'll have to try the Crystal Light in the Optifast too. I'm just trying to stock up my pantry to prepare for Optifast. I'm having a hard time envisioning three weeks of just plain old shakes.

I have like 10 bottles on my counter, makes Dh annoyed with the space used but I need variaty:)  I get mine at winners, marshalls ( if you have one) and home sence.  If I cannot find flavours I like I spend  a bit more and get them at the low carb or the nutrition house/low carb store.  I find the flavours I like are almost always in at winners and such.  I have a winners, home sence and marshalls all within the same big box plaza, so  I am very lucky ( the nutrition house/low carb store is in there too)
