I too am a daily weigher. I have to know...but I don't let it affect my mood, I just want to know the numbers. Years of not knowing the numbers, or not stepping on a scale sure didn't do anything good for me. I have just learned that there are ups and downs and if you know you are following the rules, it will come back down. Smile, it will pass, J is right, it's very likely water.

I read once that it takes 3500 calories to create 1lb of weight gain. So, unless you ate an extra 10500 calories, its probably water.
This happens to me all the time. Same reason they tell you that you should maintain in a "range" not at a specific number - so that those daily fluctuations don't make you mental.
Most likely you just ate a bit saltier meal or didn't drink quite as much water as usual and it made you retain a bit.
