So it's now  4 days post-op I had my surgery on thursday and I've finally arrived home. I stayed an extra day due to being nauseous and not being able to really eat due to that. and then they figured I was O.K. today I was feeling fine... ready to get out of the hospital (even though the staff were wonderful) and we had decided after we talked with the surgeon that  I could stay at my hme that is a good 2 hour drive. and if there were anyproblems to call and if there were any big problems to not go to our local hospital and go staight to the bariatric clinic. So thats what I'm going to do. But let me just say that the ride home did not treat me so well.. I felt soooo sick but with everything in my I vowed I wouldn't throw up cause I thought It would hurt be more than it would make me feel better. It was like all the gas that's still stuck in me was being shaken up. I'm trying my best to "release it" but  it only wants to come out of one end... not the cuter one, so it's been alittle difficult

There isn't much pain, although right after I got out of surgery and was in the recovery room... I was a super diva whining and crying about pain like "OH WHY~" I barely remember any of it... they just said. that they gave me like 15 ml's of morphine and all the nurses were like "you had alot of morphine eh?"

after that thursday night was ok.. I was in pain... they said alot of it was gas.

friday night feeling nauseous so they kept me... Although I think half of the nausea was from all the gas and air rumbling around in my stomache and probably also had something to do with the crushed up percocets in apple sauce... that were less than appetizing.

satuday night everything was fine other than me being bored and wanting to go home.. the hospital bed was starting to hurt my back. from always sleeping in that one position.

Now I'm home and I'm still feeling pretty d*** nauseated but the only pain I seem to have is from gas. But then again I'm always worried I'm going to be like "ah~ it's just gas.. and have it be a leak or something"

anyone else feel really nauseous when they got home? and suppppppppper gas-y?

Welcome home!

Everyone's gassy right after surgery, for several days at least.  Just keep walking (even if just around the house).  I found that laying down after walking helped my gas escape 'to the south'.

Perhaps the ride home is what made you nauseous?  That's quite a long ride after surgery, especially on your tummy.  Give it a few more days and see if it settles down.

Good luck!

Glad you made it home.  We're here at the hotel for another few days.  I am hoping this bloating feeling will disapate along with the gas.  I'm sure part of it is all that liquid they pumped into me.  It was great chatting with you as we passed each other in the hall.

Funny, but I really wish these hotel beds had rails.... oh well.

Doubtful that I will miss the opera singer who was belting out show tunes.  That was just too funny.  Both Grant and I thought about calling out "Encore!  Encore!"  But he must have heard us in his head.  OOOOOOOOKLAHOMA.......  Was just thankful he was down the end of the hall.

Take it easy, drink lots, get rid of the gas..... and remember, there is nothing worse than cream of broccoli soup farts....

HAHA I know i was thinking about that when I got home too.. .I also wish  the bed had an up and down button... I must have annoyed my neighbors I kept changing my mind up down up down.

LOL thats so funny. I thought that was what I heard... I passed it off as just being my imagination. If only I was closer to the door~

It was great chatting with you :D It was nice to have a familiar face and someone who spoke english (both of my roommates spoke mandarin :'(  and no english) I was so left out hahaha
