how do i know who my surgeon is???

OK......may be a crazy question but.....how do i know who my surgeon is im having surgery at st josephs in hamilton and dr gmora did my scope...does that mean he is my surgeon?? cause on my blood work and ultrasound it said dr anvari im confused HELP!! lol

I've not done this yet. But I don't know if you get to know who does your surgery untilt he surgery date is booked.... someone will chime in with the right answer for you I'm sure.

I think it depends on the centre. When I got my initial info package from Humber with my appointments, the surgeon info was in the package because the appointment was set so I knew right away that Dr. Huynh was my surgeon.

i'm still in the process as well and from what i've heard .... it's the luck of the draw the actual day of surgery.. i'm having both scopes done this friday afternoon and if you had the awesome, eye candry, dr gmora... wooo hoooo.... lucky you!  i can't wait then! .... but from what i understand the doc that does the surgery or even what kind of surgery is decided upon that day....????

 I don't know much about St Joe's, but I would think Anvari is your surgeon.

I went through St Joe's and when they called to book my surgery date they said Dr Hong.

Also when they do your PATTS it should say on the forms.

on all my paperwork it said Dr. Hong, but I had my appointment with Dr. Gmora. I think that  when they schedule your surgery it is whoever is on that day and they will let you know when they give you the call with your date who will be doing it.  that is how I understand how it works.  Hope this helps!

I did my surgeon appt with Dr. Gmora and Dr. Anvari was my surgeon.  St. Joe's is a great hospital all around you will be in great hands with any of the doctors there.  Best of Luck on your journey.

I didnt know until yesterday when they called to book my pre op appointment and i got Dr. Gmora. I had asked before and they had told me that it just depends on who is in the e.r that day and not to worry. All three surgeons at St. Joes are wonderful tho so I wasnt worried one bit. I had my scope done with someone completly different.
