Are these expensive? The evidence on them is quite weak and suggests that the same results can be acheived by keeping the healing area moist.

These dressings are not cheap but you can wash and reuse the same ones for weeks. Much easier to manage then trying to keep areas moist and dressed when you are on the go. I used them of my arm scars post bracioplasty and the scars are hardly visible now.
It seems to be a combination of the pressure and moist environment that help reduce the appearance of the scars.

My grandmother swore by vitamin E cream. She was beautiful until the day she died.....at 84 ys old.

I was lucky enough to receive a "care package" after my surgery with Bio-Oil in it. I dont know if it reduces the scars, but it sure helps with the dry skin and itching of the healing process!!

I used Vitamin E on my C-Section scar after I had Jacob and it horribly messed up my scar!  My incision became inflammed and eventually infected and my doctor said it was because of the Vitamin E I was using.  He told me to stop it immediately and I did....the infection cleared up and thank goodness because He said it was very detrimental!!

Thankfully.....I had a surgeon for my second C-Section that cut away the old scar because it was pretty nasty because of the infection....after my daughter I just used a gentle soap and warm water and I have hardly any visible scar!
