Soooooo nausous......help
Hi Sabrina,
A few suggestions for you! First, make sure there is something in your stomach before taking any vitamins - they can make you feel queasy. Second, have you tried the Premier Protein shakes? They're chocolate and ready-to-drink. I get them at Costco for about $25 per case. Also, put a lid on your cup so you can't smell the protein shake - that really helps. Finally - if you're really nauseated, you can certainly take an adult chewable Gravol to help get you through. I took them all the time at first, no problem.
As for the fruit - you're a little early out for fruit.
Each day will get better - promise. :)

Brenda, I took your question as a pleasant one. I did not read into it as being judgmental.
Pat - I have read many of your posts and they seem very researched and educational. However everyone has different symptoms and healing patterns, no matter how much research one does, it doesn't compare to real life experience. I think it is safe to say that we are very well "researched" that by coming on here we are looking for responses from others with past experience to base a problem or situation against their own.
I appreciate your responses as well as it does give a different perspective, that being said, don't be so offensive when asked if you have had surgery. It's just a way for people here to make an educated decision.People will take what they need from your answers, as they do from everyone else's *****spond.

Sorry hi jack here...I know we are not to have fruit early on. At what stage should we have it. I have a deep craving for oranges?? weird I know. I had one yesterday cut into wedges and sucked on them like a kid. I was worried about the skin and pulp so I ate them that way. Too much sugar? I have no idea seeing as I don't think I dump, or atleast I don't think I do.
Every centre is going to tell you something different Tanja. When's your next appointment? You could ask them then. You're right about the pulp and the pith - hard to digest.

Hi Sabrina, I am 6 months out and was still having problems with stomach upset after taking my vitamins. I went for my six months check up last week and was told to change vitamins (I was taking Spectrum and now I am taking Life brand Daily One) and to take them as soon as I finished eating with a small amount of water. I have not felt sick since. When you are eating a bit more and able to swallow pills this will probably work for you too. Since my surgery I can not stand protein shakes. I get my protein from cottage cheese and Greek yogurt and 2 oz of meat. My dietitian also told me I should be eating some fruit at every meal even if it is a few slices of apple. You are early out and things will get better. Try some liquid Gravol for a few days. Good luck and don't stress, it will all work with time and healing.
