Survey, because I'm curious!

I see so many different perspectives from so many different centres
that I thought I would do a survey to see how many people, by percentage,
were told different plans or ways of doing things. This is not to change anything
your surgeon or team has told you, just to get an idea of the variance
among the different centres.
It is probably easiest to copy the survey and delete either the Y or N leaving the
one that would be your answer.
Pre-op Which most closely represents the plan you were given:
Y N I was on Optifast (or similar) only
Y N I was on Optifast but could have no calorie liquids
Y N I was on Optifast and could have no calories liquids except pop and caffeinated drinks
Y N I was on Optifast and could have certain vegetables and no calorie drinks
Y N other
Post-op Which most closely represents the plan you were given:
Y N I had 10 days of clear liquids, 10 days of full liquids, 10 days of mushies, 10 days of puree
Y N I started on 10 days of full liquids, 10 days of mushies, 10 days of puree
Y N other
General Which most closely represents the plan you were given:
Y N I can never have caffeine.
Y N I can have caffeine after I have healed
Y N I can never drink carbonated beverages
Y N I can't chew gum
Y N I can't use a straw
Y N I can't eat certain proteins (beef chicken et****il I am several months out)
Y N I wait 1/2 hour after I drink to eat, and 1 hour after I eat to drink
Y N I wait 1 hour after I drink to eat, and 1 hour after I eat to drink
Y N I drink right up until I eat, but wait an hour after to drink again
Y N I should supplement my diet with protein powder until I can eat enough
Y N I should always supplement my diet with protein powder
Y N I should never supplement my diet with protein powder
Y N I feel comfortable following exactly what my team suggested
Y N I don't agree with everything I was told to do
If you have any to add, please let me know. Feel free to pm me your
answer if you don't want to add it here, and I'm using this to gather data
only for interest sake, no names will be used for any reason.
Thanks for playing! I'll come back with the %'s if I get enough
participation!
ETA:  I didn't think this through to the end, (how unlike me, lol) anyway, I think what I will do is count the Y's only and divide them out by the number of responders (both here and privately) to get the answers in percentage.  (Obviously, the rest will be No).  Also, feel free to put in ? for either, don't know, don't remember (me, lol), didn't ask/wasn't told.

Thanks to all responding!

Okee dokee! :) Keep in mind this was 5.5 years ago.

Pre-opWhich most closely represents the plan you were given:
NI was on Optifast (or similar) only
NI was on Optifast but could have no calorie liquids
NI was on Optifast and could have no calories liquids except pop and caffeinated drinks
NI was on Optifast and could have certain vegetables and no calorie drinks
Y other - I was on a high protein, low fat/carb diet for 10 days
Post-opWhich most closely represents the plan you were given:
N I had 10 days of clear liquids, 10 days of full liquids, 10 days of mushies, 10 days of puree
NI started on 10 days of full liquids, 10 days of mushies, 10 days of puree
Y other - 1 week full, 2 weeks puree, 2 weeks soft
GeneralWhich most closely represents the plan you were given:
NI can never have caffeine.
Y I can have caffeine after I have healed
Y I can never drink carbonated beverages
Y I can't chew gum
Y I can't use a straw
NI can't eat certain proteins (beef chicken et****il I am several months out)
NI wait 1/2 hour after I drink to eat, and 1 hour after I eat to drink - 30 min before, 30 after
NI wait 1 hour after I drink to eat, and 1 hour after I eat to drink
NI drink right up until I eat, but wait an hour after to drink again
Y I should supplement my diet with protein powder until I can eat enough
NI should always supplement my diet with protein powder
NI should never supplement my diet with protein powder
Y I feel comfortable following exactly what my team suggested
Y I don't agree with everything I was told to do

To clarify the last 2 questions - I did feel comfortable. Knowing what I know NOW, I don't necessarily agree (i.e. straws, not drinking 30 min prior to eating, no carbonated beverages forever, etc).

Interested to see the answers!

Edited to add: This was at Humber River - Dr. Hagen.

Some are told to not chew gum due to the risk of swallowing it and then it causes problems like getting stuck.
