Results of Telling

I am so very pleased that you were able to tell your brother and SIL.I too was worried about how my family would react however, when I told them I was so pleased to see how supportive they were.I had a longer stay in the hospital due to complications (7 days), however there wasn't one day that passed that my family wasn't with me and I come from a large family.They took time out of their day to ensure that I always had someone with me, even when I was sleeping.This was so touching that there were many times were I just became overwhelmed and cried because of all the love and support that I received and to date I still do the same. My younger sister cries every time she see me and tells me how proud she is of me for making the choice to take back my life. The choice for having the surgery was mine alone and I am so happy to know that it will give me a longer and better life.

Good for you, glad it went well with your brother.  Sometimes it a little stressful but now it must be a weight off your shoulders.
Now you can breathe a bit more....lol

I know the feeling but it is such a relief to have the family know.  I worried about telling my Dad but he deserved to know and he was very supportive when I did finally tell him.
Everyone needs to know that this surgery is available to them.
And thank God that it is.
