the quote from above "The optifast basically goes by your weight: if you are in the 200s, you need 2 weeks (roughly $200) 300s/ 3 weeks (roughly $300) and so on.
"

Hrmmm I'm 6'4 and in the high 300 pounds and they only put me on optifast for 2 weeks. So im not sure if thats correct.

I read that from other posts in the past and that's why I wrote it. ;)  Generally, that is how it seems to go.

That's what i was told, too, Swagger. Maybe because you're a guy, you don't have as much excess weight.

Some surgeons go by BMI.  I was only 280 but did three weeks because my BMI was 46.9, my surgeon says over 45 does three weeks, under 45 does two weeks.

Highest weight ~ 360, Surgery weight ~ 280, Current weight ~ 171
Referral to bariatric registry ~ April 29, 2011  SURGERY ~ September 27, 2011

you should try and "save-up" for as much time as you possibly can afford, always better to have mor ethan you need than not as much as you need

..truly I have & had at the time a desk job and went back 2 weeks after surgery for 5 hrs/day and I was exhausted for a good two months, luckily my husband was laid off at the time and all I did was come home from work, change into my PJ's and sink into my recliner..I had absolutely no energy for anything extra.  Being on your feet will totally exhaust you and while your system is getting used to the re0working of everything it takes every ounce of your being to maintain even a decent energy level...sure most people feel pretty good, but it's the exhuastion that beats us down.

I had started a new job the month before my surgery so I was not eligible for any type of leave or sick time..I had to use vacation time and didn't want to use much of that.

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!.  Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
