okay so trying to mentally prepare for going back to ork and want to make sure I'm packing a fruit snack everyday and I'm growing tired of fruit cups.

anyone have issues with fruit?

grapes
oranges
apples
pineapple
kiwi
banana

any suggestions? I'm thinking of ensuring I have a
it all cut and prepared.

I LOVE fruit! But so far I've only had berries, grapes, melon & pomegranates. I tried pineapple & had a lot of trouble with it. I haven't tried anything else.

oh I never would have thought about pome! At what stage did you start introducing fresh fruits?

I was a month out & was given the okay to start eating berries. Everything else followed that - the dietician said to try the fruits slowly. That's why I haven't tried anything else yet.

I have eaten all those fruits

Don't buy alot, I found that early out I could eat:
grapes- 50g
oranges- cutie oranges-> 1-2 cuz they are small
apples- 1/2 and with no skin
pineapple- I actually put it on my homemade pizza, I tried it fresh and it didn't sit to well, but it was ok cooked
kiwi- 1 kiwi
banana- 1 medium size banana (now but about 1/2 to 3/4 early out)

Unfortunately fruit is not really your best choice for a snack early out as its so high in carbs.  You should probably check the carb values and go with  the lower carb fruits if you feel you really need them.  A better choice would be a protein snack like a cheese string, pepperette (turkey has a good protein to calorie ratio), meat rollup with pickles or cheese, yogurt or cottage cheese.  Just my $.02!

All the best in your journey!

Totally agree with this! Fruit should be an occasional treat rather than an everyday sort of thing as it is full of sugar (especially fructose which is especially bad for you) and has no protein at all! Also, as a large piece of your small intestine is now bypassed, you aren't absorbing a lot of the vitamins that you would have gotten the benefit of before surgery. If you crave something fresh with a crunch, veggies at least would have much, much fewer carbs/sugar.

You've gotten a lot of great ideas for snacks, I'd add boiled egg, slices of cheese, nuts and natural greek yogurt and protein shakes to that list. Remember, protein first!

Try 1-2 Babybel Light for a snack:  each is 50 calories and has 6 gms protein, so for 100  calories you get 12 gms protein...(you don`t have to cut or prepare`` as each comes individually wrapped in wax and cellophane, and survives in your purse without refrigeration).  Half a protein bar, make sure is high in protein and low in carbs, is another option...and also very `portable`in your purse.

I started with apple(no skin), canned peaches in water, banana. To start would not reccommend grapes d/t skin. At 3 month RD said skins, oranges good.

I think it is way to early for you to be eating so much fruit - very hard on your pouch and high sugar and carb will affect your weight loss.  I have eaten very little fruit and only started a week ago - 2 slices of cooked peaches. I only ate them a few times and have stopped as my sugar went up.

We are told absolutely no fruit with skin on it like grapes, no citrus -membrane too hard on tummy, same with pineapple.  A small amount of applesauce is ok but nothing else at this early out.  What does your manual say? There is no way my stomach could handle any of these fruits especially since they wont be cooked and mushed.  My suggestion would be to find highprotein snacks like protein drinks, hard boiled egg, or small amount of egg salad, tuna salad, etc.
