fresh fruits for snacks

At my three month appt., dietician wanted me to eat more fruit.  I had stayed away from it because it felt like it was too sweet, but I was told to have more carbs.  I often have a banana or half apple with a little peanut butter, but I find grapes a bit hard...closest I've ever come to dumping was on grapes.

Fruit for me is hard, ( almost 6 months out )
Grapes and Pineapple make me feel
very funny I think they are just to high in sugar for me. ??
I have a few slices of apple with PB, a 3rd of a banana just for taste but mostly I have a yogurt as my main snack or some cheese.

Good luck

At this point all of your snacks and meals should be protein based.

I agree 100% with Karen at a little over a month post-op, your concentration should STILL be on protein, every chance you get...fruit is a nice treat, but not something that will help nourish your bosy in anyway..not right now anyway..and then you have to be careful of the sugar contents in fruit...at this point you could be opening yourself up to some serious dumping...and it's not something you want to experience...believe me I speak to this from experience.

Even at almost 3 years post-op..I cna only eat maybe 1/2 orange, less than a handful of blueberries or about 6 strawberries...kiwi. is a NO NO for me...8.99 grams of sugar in a kiwi...that's close to my danger zone..I max out at about 13

I would suggest that you have some light mozzerella and some other protein based snacks..

check out this fantastic link..even unsweetened applesauce has sugar~!!..don't be fooled by labels that say low sugar or NO added sugar because when it's a fruit it has sugar naturally..check out this links for simple laid out stats, as you will see in teh second link there are only a couple of fruits below  8 grams..and at a month post-op...that could be VERY tricky for you...especially if you are considering making a fruit-cup.

I personally would begin with a 1/4 of a bananna or ONE fruit at a time...and in a very, very small quantity...just to trial the whole dumping from sugar thing..nothing worse than having a dumping episode at work...give the fruit thing a trial run at home...where if you end up dumping at least you can lay down and sleep it off.
