How to be brought down a peg or two - WLS style (funny)

I work at the local hospital here as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. This morning I had to draw blood from the in-patients. I had a regular "customer" this morning. I've drawn him multiple times before but not since my surgery. He has cancer and might be having a little confusion. Here's a transcript of our interaction.

Me: Good morning, Mr. *****

Him: Good morning. Boy you've put on a lot of weight. (I've lost 68 lbs!)

Me: I think you might have me confused with someone else.

Him: Weren't you just in here a couple of minutes ago?

Me: No. That was your nurse. I'm here to draw your blood. I thought you might have been thinking I was someone else. I've actually just lost almost 70 lbs, Mr. ****.

Him: Well, it's a start. (In other words, "You're still really FAT!")


I was feeling so wonderful and he managed to bring me back to reality in one short minute. Oh well, I didn't take it personally and it gave me a good morning chuckle.

Hope you didn't hurt him in retaliation (just kidding)...I know you "vampires"...you can never find a suitable vein and poke around a lot until you are satisfied! 

 Nope... I keep the blunt needles for the really "special" cases.

Well, you took it the right way anyway.  No accounting for what some folks will say, eh?

My poor BFF had the same type of situation recently - Wanda is 105 pounds soaking wet, if that.  She's never been heavy in her life and is tiny, tiny, tiny!  An acquaintance of ours, who is a very tall, heavy woman, took one look at Wanda and commented, "Wow, you're getting fat like me!"

We're still laughin' about that one. LOL

 Yes, no accounting for other people's tact (or lack thereof).

I don't think he was being malicious at all. Just very matter of fact. *LOL*

that's too funny. I'm sure he meant well, but its hilarious.

 I don't know if he meant "well" but I don't believe he was trying to be mean. Maybe the cancer has affected his brain-mouth filter. 

yeah, maybe he decided life is too short to lie to people, and has sworn only to tell it like he sees it.

I gotta know: Why is your Wieght Lost ticker in pounds and your Weight to Go ticker in Kg?

Just want to say, I love your new picture!!  You look wonderful and that man is a jack a$$!  But unfortunately, he is just part of the Y chromosome syndrome!
