OPTI and Work.. and.... EMOTIONS...TEMPTATION
Funnyly enough everyone I worked with thought I would be a raving ***** and I was not at all. I was ok on opti other than I was so ravenously hungry the entire time. I drank a ton of broth, I do not like jello but did a have it a few times. My center only allows clear fluid/jello so I did not have the option of veggies I was craving veggies to be honest.
I just reminded myself it was only for a short period of time and kept my eye on the goal~~surgery.
I also noticed post op food tasted like heaven because it had been so long since I was allowed real food.
Also remember the goal of opti is NOT to lose weight it to shrink and cleanse your liver. If you are fat the chances are you have a fatty liver-a fatty liver is large hard and lies right across where all the surgical work needs to occur. It is easier and less risky if the liver is smaller and softer.
Weight loss during opti is a bonus not a requirement. Stay off the scale, find alternate things to do.
Just as an thought I told my other half and my daugther I would not be cooking dinner while I was on opti. Now I do understand for those with young kids that is not a possibility, however hubby could cook more than he does now or even get take out for the family.
I did not sit with the family for dinner it just made it easier for me and this in turn made it easier for me to do what I had to do for my health. This is the time imho to make yourself a priority and do what is right for you~~afterall its only for a short period of time.
I truly think part of the reason we are all in this situation is we put everyone else first and ourselves last, this needs to change in order to be there for everyone we need to make sure we take care of ourselves first.
sorry, sometimes I tend to ramble............LOL
Cheers all and good luck~~~~~(all that being said opti sucks)
