Three Month Follow Up in Hamilton
Had the three month follow up in Hamilton today. Went very well and the official weigh-in has me down 51 pounds since surgery, Feb. 2, and a total of 73 pounds since the start of Optifast. It has been a great ride, no issues with vomitting or nausea for anything new foods. Everything I try is going down perfect. The nurse was very happy.
Blood work showed low vitamin A and Zinc so I have to take suppliments for them until my next follow up at the end of August. Exercise has been getting easier everyday. Purchased a new bike and last Sunday did a 12km ride.
LIFE IS AWESOME!!!!!

Sounds like you're doing great!
Just a tip for you about the Vitamin A. Most vitamin A you find will be in the form of a gel-cap, with oil in it. You likely won't absorb this very well as RNYers malabsorb around 30% of the fat they eat, so if you're going to try those, you may need to take more to make-up for the malabsorption. If you try it and your A becomes even lower, you may want to consider buying a 'dry' vitamin A formulation from the US from the company Biotech. Vitalady sells it on her website, or it can be bought across the border at supplement stores - just be careful with Customs as they will confiscate any doses of vitamin A over 10,000IU per pill.

Fabulous results. Congratulations.
Vitamin A deficiency is common after surgery, especially for DSers and also RNYers. I currently know several RNYers, a VSGer and myself, a DSer, who had deficiencies within a few weeks post-op (in my case it looks like I was already low-ish as a pre-op).
I'm currently taking 50,000IU/day of the Swiss Herbal tablet (the only non-gelcap I could find in Canada!), but my numbers haven't turned around so I've ordered the Biotech from Vitalady. I've got one more month to go before my 3 month follow-up, so I'm hoping it might improve a little before then. My family doc is testing my vitamin A every month inbetween my clinic visits. The test is paid for if the lab req indicates a history of deficiency.
