Wigging out over Soft Food Stage
RNY on 05/18/12
Hey all,
Just soo anxious about overloading myself with carbs and they are CRACK to me! I am not exaggerating. My first cracker the other day and my head said "devour the box" when my gut was full.
Why can't I just continue on liquids longer (lol). So don't want to mess this food thing up. Maybe
its just hitting my harder because I never paid as much attention to ratios before (40/30/30).
How do I break this down per meal. I was just floored when I discovered a label for mango and it still had 21g carbs per 3/4 cup serving! When I"m only intaking 60-70g of protein that seems like too many carbs on one food.
I'm not real great at math- I think I'm gonna book a seperate dietician appt sooner to ease all these fears. Just wanna make sure I'm doing everything right and not gonna blow this!
TIA, Kelsey (3 weeks post op)

Because you want something to chew on! Avoid fruit for now and concentrate on the protein first. Add some soggy well steamed veggies and a couple of crackers and you'll be doing great.
