First days home
I think it depends on the individual. I also had some issues with being lightheaded my first day home. I was feeling woozy so I asked my daughter to stay close by until I was out of the shower. Other than that, I was ok and just took it easy, focusing on my vitamins, water, and protein.

Carol, just from reading the posts I would have a person "on standby" in case you needed help. So they must be easily reachable and close by to be of the most potential use. I have a fox terrier I could lend you, he would probably bark like hell if you fell but other than that he is just of petable value (better than a cat imo)! jk about the cat, kind of! Good luck, regards, Ian
Thank you everyone. I live in a bungalow, bathroom and kitchen very close to my bedroom. I think I'm ready for when I get home, I hope. I've got protein powder and lots of things to mix with it, and Greek yogurt, apple sauce, Protein shakes, soups. i think that should do me for the first few days. I will ask my daughter to continue to work but to stay the night here. I have friends close by as well.

I was home alone with cell phone. It was OK.
I pre-stocked my fridge with
- Danactive Sugar Free Probiotic drinks (perfect size, gut healthy & 4 g protein)
- Sugar Free Yogurts
- Cottage Cheese
- Sugar Free Pudding
- Applesauce
- Milk
- Oatmeal packages (reduced sugar) - they go down real easy watered down.
All in cups or individual servings, which would take me 1/2 hour to eat !
And all the supplements.
All I wanted to do was sleep anyway. It's mindbending how little you eat post surgery. I didn't want anyone fussing over me.

Hi Carol. I'm very glad that I had my mom come for me for the first bit. She stayed longer than she needed to, so that was just pure luxury for me. I do think it's important for someone to be on standby for sure. I would have everything prepared beforehand, as you said, and you should be ok.
