Hello Everyone!

I hope your summer has been wonderful! All of those who had their surgery, I hope you are doing well, and making it through! your all a real inspiriation to me!

I do have a question though, I know with the Deitician, they will want you to keep a food journal?, I was wondering would it help if I started one now, before my orientation? or just wait till they tell me to?

I would like to be one of the people that takes less then year to get her surgery...and really wish I could just have all my appointments in one day!! lol. Anyways thanks for the help!!

It can't hurt to start now.  It'll help get you in the habit which will benefit you down the road.

They will be happy if u start now, but I doubt it will speed it up much if at all.  You have to go through all of the steps, they want to make sure that this surgery is right for you.  If you split up apts. that will speed it up (in guelph mine got spead up about a month for splitting them up) Otherwise you have to wait to get a day that all three (nurse, diet. and SW) can see you, not that easy....

Good luck on your journey!!

def a good idea to start now ... any post op habits you can start now will make it easier after your surgery because you will have already put them into practice :)

I'm 17 mos out and have had the worst time journaling, i've downloaded the myfitnesspal app on my iphone but I find i'm more consistent with an actual paper journal and pen, plus i write down any interesting recipes I come accross :)

I had to have a journal of 3 days for my dietician. I think journalling now is a great idea. I journal everything I eat now and wish I started much earlier. It gives you so much insight and it is SO easy to forget something you may have eaten earlier, and it all adds up.

The journaling is a a wake up call. A lot of people lose weight just by doing it.
