Question about process
Hi Everyone. I'm new on here and have really enjoyed reading all of your stories! I'm so happy to have found this place! :)
I went for my orientation last week at Humber in Toronto, and recieved my appointments today for the SW, dietician, and RN. They'll all be on November 16. It said that my surgeon will be Dr. Starr, and that he'll call me after all my other appointments have been completed.
What other appointments are usually scheduled? I've read things about sleep studies, psychiatrists, internists etc, and in my mind, I'm trying to figure out when my surgery might be. Also, does anyone have any experinece with Dr. Starr?
Thanks so much for any help!
Lisa

I had Dr. Starr and he was great.
Re HRRH appointments they can make you repeat either dietician or social worker.
- You have to go to a surgery class.
- You have to see the anesthetist, do lab(PATT) & see a different RN pre surgery (usually on same day).
- You have to see Dr. Glazer (Internist) who sends people to a sleep study. and maybe for other tests to evaluate surgical risk.
- you see surgeon
- you get date and buy optifast.
HRRH is turning people over quickly, you're very lucky to be there.

I am also with Dr.Starr. I saw the RD and SW on August 29th and the RN on September 7th. I called today and got my appointment with Dr.Starr on Friday. I was told on the phone they don't always have you see him first. I guess I will know more on Friday if I need to see more people or not. I do have a follow up with the RD as they called on the Tuesday for the Wednesday appointments and I didn't have much in my food diary. It is only a phone call follow up though.
Good luck!
