Where do you buy Agave and your flavoured stevia?

Isn't club soda carbonated? Do you still drink carbonated drinks?

I went sugar free before surgery as my center recommended and have tried to stick to that, and I don't add artificial sweeteners (I stick to a less than 10g sugar per serving rule, preferably less than 5 g).

I drink diet coke (yes I regressed!) with aspartamine or coke zero with splenda, and have the sugar free yogurts or puddings with whatever they put in there. I don't sweeten my coffee.

I notice the taste of sugar INSTANTLY now (so I agree with Ian that a little goes a long way), and I like the taste of fruit much better.

Sugar Alcohols don't sit that well with me, I get a sugar high then a headache & crankiness (!) and they have the same appetite stimulant effect on me as sugars, so I try not to use them (they are in some low sugar protein bars).

I have never dumped, from either sugar or fat, (so far!) but I've lost weight before and regained it, so to me the "no sugar" rule is one I am sticking to as something that will make a long term difference in terms of maintenance.

Hi again,

Agave can be bought almost any supermarket now in the health food section. Flavoured stevia is at some health food stores.. Its pricey but only 3 - 4 drops needed max.

I make my own club soda with the soda fountain and I add minimal gas ..I had VSG.. not sure if that makes a difference or not.

FYI:  I was at the Bulk Barn the other day and saw the agave and stevia there.

Thanks for the information about the Bulk Barn, gg. My understanding is they also carry whey gourmet there.

Sandy, where did you get your sugar free syrup (maple syrup)? Was it good enough for pancakes? How about the jellies? Do they keep well?

I use powdered Stevia for pretty much everything- my coffee, baked things, etc.... and I really like it.  HOWEVER...... I find the "Truvia" brand tastes the best.  The others can have a bit if a funky aftertaste.

Where do you buy it, Marny?

You can buy it in most grocery stores near the sugar and sugar sustitutes.  I usually buy the box of individual packets because I like it in my coffee.  I think you can also buy it in Shoppers.
