I'm so sorry to hear this. What exactly do they mean that it was caused by surgery? Complications from the surgery itself, or from issues related to not being able to eat or drink post-op? Had you ever been under anesthesia before?
I had OHIP approved Duodenal Switch surgery with Dr. Dennis Hong at St. Joseph's Hamilton on March 7th, 2012. Want more information on the DS in Ontario? Send me a private message!

I'm also interested to hear the exact cause of your problems...they sound very serious and its good to share both good and bad experiences related to the surgery so that others are making full informed decisions re: having surgery.
I'm really glad to hear that you have started your recovery.  I hope its not too long a road until you are back to full functioning.  I'm sending healing wishes your way.

I think we shared a room at HRRH when I had my surgery.  I'm sure it was you and I in the room with the elderly Italian lady who had dementia and had fallen down some cement steps.  (She broke my heart) You fell one night coming back from the bathroom :( - if you are the same lady.
I'm so sorry that things didn't work out so well for you.
