Try it....ya never know.  My faves are "bread and butter pickles", (1 tsp ?) dill relish or sweet green relish.  Also, instead of pickles, I love a T of cottage cheese on top of my PB....more protein!

Good morning, Barb!  That sounds like a very long day for you, but a productive one!

RNY, 3 Weeks Post-Op (time flies!)

I'm hoping I can get out of work by about 4 p.m. today, so I can hit the track before dinnertime.  It's so tough to go back at 8 p.m. after the kids are in bed, so where possible I'm going to try to get it done beforehand!

Here are my meals for today:

B - 1/4 cup Greek Yogurt with 1 Tbsp. Protein Powder and SF Peach Syrup, 1/3 cup Protein Shake

S - 1/3 cup Protein Shake, Prunes/Applesauce with Metamucil

L - 1 hard boiled egg mashed up with a tbsp. of light mayo, 3 pieces of Melba Toast

S - 2/3 cup Protein Shake

D - 2 oz. Tilapia with 2 Tbsp Dill Sauce, V8 juice or some pureed carrots/peas, Greek Yogurt with 1 tsp. protein powder and SF Chocolate Syrup

S - 2/3 cup Protein Shake

Totals for today - 793 Calories, 48g Carbs, 21g Fat, 110g Protein

Lots of water and all vitamins, too.

Have a great day!

Aww, thanks Barb!  Your daily thread helps keep me organized, so I appreciate it!

I am pleased with my protein intake - so far it's coming more from Shakes and Powders, but hopefully that will reduce as I move towards real food!

Good morning,

Barb, glad you enjoyed Homeland. It's funny. Ever since surgery, I hardly ever watch television. I was such a television nut before. And for the first year I couldn't concentrate to read. I read now, but again, not like I used to. I'm guessing it's because i'm much more active. Who knows?

I have a long day as I prepare for our AGM meeting on Friday morning. But, it's date night, and we're going to Ciao Wine Bar for dinner. Yum! I'm planning on having pasta...again...for the third time since surgery!! LOL.

B: Protein coffee goat yogurt with vanilla nsa yogurt and Fibre One cereal (already had all of this...yikes!! Super hungry this morning)

S: Ryvita and laughing cow cheese

Spinning class and weights

L: Chili

S: Venti Vanilla Skinny latte (I really will be having this freebie today....lol) with protein

D: penne arrabiata with grilled chicken (hope they will accomodate the chicken..it's not on the menu like that). and a glass of cab Sauv

Lots of carbs there. Won't eat much of the pasta, all of the chicken though. Totals below do not include the wine. Don't feel like going back in and adding it now lol. More carbs. Sigh.

Totals Calories: 974 Carbs: 108 Fat: 23 Protein: 103 Fibre: 25 Sugar: 30

+ about 200 more calories for the wine.

Kelly I think this looks great for someone who is as active as you are plus who is in maintenance mode....

I eat pasta occasionaly....only when out for dinner......its a great treat.....

You have to learn to live your life in balance....which is so tough to do for us all or nothing types....emotional eater types etc etc....I guess all of us who have found ourselves requiring WLS

So enjoy....the scale will tell you if you need to re-evaluate your eating

You're absolutely right Barb. It's one reason my therapist said NOT to toss away the scale (as has been suggested by many on here). With my personality, and I can be all or nothing (like a lot of us....probably most of us on here) attitude, throwing the scale away turns into my own slippery slope. I do have to know that I can have things like pasta....once in awhile. One of our vets, Joyce, told me the same thing. Pasta was a demon for me in the past. But having it last week for dinner, and then leftovers, I really could take it or leave it. Which thrilled me. And the scale remained. It's quite a learning process. I've had these habits for 25 years, they don't just change in 19 months. A LOT has, but not all. :-) Thanks for the words, I appreciate them as always :-)
