Fountain of youth
Thanks for the inspiring post. I am your age and have been waiting an eternity for surgery. It's good to hear that the changes I am hoping for should come and therefore it is definitely worth the wait. I too am not worried about 'after-looks' but want to be healthier and have much more energy than I now have. Again, thank you. I seldom see posts from 'older' people and I appreciate knowing you're out there.
I work in long term care with many much older people, including people in their 90's.
To me the keys to health are regular activity, good nutrition, only minor bad habits, and an interest in other people and new things. I think you qualify on all counts for a good longevity attitude.
Nice you were outside! I've been in all day avoiding my homework AND the sunshine!

Thank you for this sensible and timely reminder, Patm -- at 63, and a couple of months pre-surgery, I am hoping for improved mobility, remission of type 2 diabetes and feeling better.
You've hit the nail on the head, again.
Thanks!

Inspiring post, Pat. It really is all about living our best life possible...which is never the perfect life we hold as an ideal....but a better life is usually an outcome of this surgery for most of us. Its great that you allowed yourself to let go of the ideal and make room for simply living better each day. Thanks for the reminder that attitude is everything!
What a thoughtful and inspiring post. Thank you for this.
