Surgery Date Already!!
This is moving really fast for me, almost too fast! I went to Humber for my SW, dietician, and Nurse appointments this past Friday (November 16), and when I called in to listen to my messages at lunch today, I had a message to call my surgeon. When I called they offered me a surgery date for December 14...3 weeks from Friday! I totally wasn't expecting a date until February!! So I drive to Toronto on Friday to pick up my Optifast, and I start that on Saturday!!!!! I'm SO HAPPY!!!!!!
My surgeons office told me that they would let me know when my other appointments are booked. Now, the worrywart that I am...don't you usually meet everyone before your surgery is scheduled, and you start the Optifast?????

Wow, that's amazing. I'm surprised your surgery date is so fast since you seemed to wait a long time from your referral to orientation. Do you happen to know why there was such a wait?
I've just been transferred to Humber from St. Joe's in Hamilton. My referral was sent in March and I just had my orientation on October 15th. Unfortunately, I then found out that the wait from orientation to surgery was approximately a year. A friend of mine asked to be transferred to Humber and I decided to ask as well. Humber is only an hour from where I live so if it means I can get the surgery faster, then I don't mind.
I have to go through orientation again though. The transfer can take about 3-4 weeks. I hope it's not a long wait to orientation though.

There was a long wait for me at the beginning, because my referring Dr. put my address down wrong on the referral. The clinic had tried to contact me twice for earlier orientations!
