How many optifast

I was told to have three to four optifast a day and I've been fine having three, does any know if its any issue that I am having three or should I really having four???

Optifast is designed to take all four pouches in a day. Doing so would provide you with the 900 calories as per the name on the box (Optifast 900--as this is what most centres provide). If you were only to take 3 shakes a day, that would mean your caloric intake is only about 675 a day, which in my opinion is not a safe long term state to be in. Try and get your other shakes in and good luck! 

I only drank 2 or 3 a day. They were disgusting and made me gag. I drank lots of water and I was fine. Lost 33 pounds in 3 weeks and my surgery went perfectly. 

Best to take 4. Having said that I think that for approx. 80% of the 2 weeks, I drank 3. Just no way I could drink 4 every day. But I never went to 2. I phoned then and they told me to "really try to drink all 4". You will need the healthy calories to go into your surgery as well - you do not want to be too weak or with a weakened immune system.

Keep it up - but I would not go under 3 and try for 4.

It is not just the calories mentionned above, however if you read the label you can see the nutrition facts for each pouch.  What struck me is that I would not want to wait all this time for surgery and place my body in a deficit position just before major surgery.

Best to have 4, but I only got three in. 

I had a reaction to the opti. I only had three for 2 weeks and it was not an issue. Depending on how long you are on the opti would determine if there was an issue. A couple of weeks of only three should not effect you. After surgery you will probably be having only that amount of calories initially anyway
