Problems getting vitamin A and D tested in Ontario

Thanks all,

The Ministry's website clearly states it is covered in cases of malabsorption syndromes and I have not found anything online to the effect that OHIP won't cover the test for the A.  I spoke with a claims representative for OHIP who confirmed my Dr. can order any test she sees fit - If at the end of the day OHIP doesn't pay for it then I will get a bill.  I really don't care about that - I just need the test done...   I have booked an appointment for tomorrow at lifelabs and will see what happens next.

Update - Just got back from the lab... Dr. had to write malapsorbtion syndrome on the requisition and check the box for insured and they didn't charge me for the vitamin D test but they did charge me $50 to have my selenium tested.
