OptiFast and Dill Pickles?

I was wondering if any of you ate dill pickles while on OptiFast, or if it is allowed?

I started my OptiFast yesterday, and was told at Humber that we are allowed to eat up to 2 cups of lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli a day with vinegar/lemon. Just wondering if dill pickles would be considered cucumbers??

Wishful thinking maybe...I love Dill Pickles!  I have to say although it has only been one day, OptiFast isn't bad like I thought it would be.  I actually like the taste!  Maybe after a couple weeks I won't feel the same way though!

I do not know.  I think it would be OK but not in the 3 days leading up to surgery.

But how weird is it when Optifast & Dill Pickles is considered a good eating day !

I was told no as it has a boatload of salt in them.  Some even have sugar.  To be honest, I don't think one would be so terrible but I'd not make my 2 cups worth of veggies them though.

I wasn't advised on whether dill pickles were allowed, but I'd have to agree with the other comment re: salt and sugar content. I'm sure one isn't going to do any harm though. Maybe place a call to the nutritionist if you're really unsure, but really craving it.

HRRH was pretty adamant about Opti, broth, SF jell-o and the short list of veg only. That said, I made 'pickles' myself out of my allowed cucumber, some white vinegar and salt. It was nice, especially after drinking too-sweet Opti shakes all day. Nice crunch too.
