Just curious...why doesn't Ontario sell sugar free cake mixes and icing?
I make my own cake and cookies with splenda brown sugar. I switch everything sugar with splenda.
I don't think you have to cut out treats completely like suggested above. Just in moderation. I have 1 small treat a day, made with splenda and never late at night.
I believe you have to learn how to eat normally. Completely voiding all the pleasurable foods is a lot like when I use to starve myself on some diet.
Just my 2 cents
I wont go on a rant here. Just wanted to say that I totally agree that we have to learn how to eat "normally"
Normal, however, is subjective.
Me personally....I think we need to also learn how to derive pleasure from things OTHER than food and start "treating" ourselves with things other than food.
I read a great quote the other day; "Reward yourself with something other than food. You are not a dog."
That being said, I am far from perfect on practicing what I preach. This is real life after all.
Ok... Seriously... There are bakeries all over Ontario who make "diabetic" cakes. Which are sugar free and made from scratch. If you want it... They are there.
Funniest thing ever was a friend on a diet ordered a diabetic cake, with regular icing from one. And they made it... Dear goodness. It was like soft, spongy cardboard with spun sugar icing on top. *shudder* I stuck to the fruits, and veggies.
Why can't you find the recipe from scratch, buy the ingredients, and make it yourself if you want this? Not trying to be rude. Just asking why you want or need this to be a pre-packaged item/combination?

Oh and did y'all notice Kozy Shack has new pudding flavours in low fat, moderate calorie options. Some with No Sugar Added, and many made with tapioca starch (not corn starch)? My world just got a bit... brighter... Post op. i was having pudding envy moments reading about others who could have it. Now I can too...
Now if I could only grow an ass.....
