Yes they can get stuck! I find Gluten free stuff is drier than the gluten filled stuff. It doesn't have the binding that wheat flour has.
This waffle recipe I have made with half the flour replaced by unflavored protein powder to boost the protein count. Works and they freeze well for toasting later as well. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/almond-flour-waffles/

There are recipes on this site, and the creator has had WLS:

I can't imagine the sensation of 'getting stuck' will be any different with almond flour. The texture may be less dense but it is more crumbly/dry.
I thought I had an article about almond flour cooking tips - but I can't seem to find it. There is a difference between almond meal and almond flour, but I can't recall the details without the documentation right in front of me.
The gluten free goddess website also has almond flour recipes.
Good luck
