3 weeks post op- AND NO WEIGHT LOSS?
Don't worry, From what I've heard, you are starting as a "low" weight, so you will still lose, just slower then someone that starts at 300+. Follow the plan and it will happen, just resist your old habits even after surgery, they will still come back to haunt you just push them away and enjoy your new life journey! ![]()
It is also possible that you hit a early stall, so just ride it out and everything shall fall into place!
Ps: I stalled at about 2 months for 4 weeks, but it did pass and has been steady since.
And you are not alone! We are all either sitting or have been sitting in the same boat at some point...lol
The hunger thing is different with everyone, I started feeling hungry about one month out, but a friend of mine was shocked, because she didn't feel hungry until 3 months! You will feel it again but just don't forget you stomach is the size of about an egg, when you are full, stop eating! When you want more, ask yourself "do I want it because I am still hungry or because it tastes good?" If it's the first answer, wait for 15 min and see if you still are hungry, chances are you won't be, if it's the second one, don't eat until next snack/meal time. When you don't feel hunger you really have to watch the clock and eat what they recommend and no more. Don't forget your water! Thirst/dehydration can often be mistaken for hunger, don't forget that! I will send you some good luck with you journey!
It really is quite the ride!
It's a GOOD THING.

Please don't worry about the scale right now. Focus on water and protein. The weight will take care of itself.
Trust me,

My sympathies for your frustration... I am awaiting my actual surgery date...but in the 2 1/2 hr surgery info session...they said we all lose weight at different speeds. from what you posted...CW 244 you are on the right road... the meeting also said...watch sodium intake..., right down everything we eat...(sometimes easier said than done).... they also said...eat the full amount of allowed protein each day... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
the Support group at the weight clinic here where i live....says....get in touch with your group.....ie: behavioural therapist, dietician, look out to see if your grazing? (but I think that's only if you are putting on weight)...
I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HELPS...BUT I SURE DON'T WANT IT TO HINDER YOU.....YOU ARE!!! LOSING!!!
I don't understand - in the thread title, you said you've had no weight loss. Then in the thread, you seem to have lost 30 lbs befor surgery, and then 12 lbs in the three weeks since surgery. I don't know how long it took you to lose the 30 lbs before surgery - was that Optifast? If so, then that means you were losing quickly before surgery, and now you're still losing 4 lbs a week.
That's not "no weight loss"! :) You're doing great!
