So ive been on vacation in south america all week. But have been feeling crappy. Just came off my reprozole (sp) last week before i left. That is perviced for some. So the full acid, gas and reflux has been back full force. Since yesterday I have been getting a stomach ache everytime i try to eat or even drink anything. Feeling very uncomfortable. I will be 4 month post op on the 22nd of this month.

Any idea what I could be dealing with here. I am getting worried something is wrong. I guess i just need to put my mind at ease with any idea besides me sitting here thinking im falling appart lol

Thanks for your support

I've hear others having this issue going off the prevacid. They just go back on.

I'd suggest contacting your surgeon and or bariatric centre as soon as possible.

Maybe take an over the counter PPI in the meantime?

Thanks for ur replies....getting a PPI in this country is like asking someone to give u an arm. Got a hold of the nurse at St Joe's Hamilton. Made me feel like crap basically reamed me out for being out of the country so early after surg. I will be 4 months next week. I need to go into emerg tommorow morning to see Dr Gmora. Will keep you posted.

Thanks

You don't have to take abuse off of any one that includes doctors and nurses. You're out of the country and that's the situation, if they want to help great, if not don't waste time on them.

You should go back on prevacid asap and that should settle things down again. If you can find it or something like it where you are then get a doctor to prescribe it until you get back home. Then get it sorted properly.

I had a problem coming off of Prevacid as well so you can see from the posts here it's not uncommon. Hope the rest of your trip goes well.

Hi:

When I asked the surgeon (Dr. Starr) about staying on the Prevacid at 3 months he said to try without it for a month and if I felt I needed it to just ask my family doctor.  Wasn't a big issue

I always needed a PPI before my surgery

Laurie
