mammograms after wls

I was just wondering if any of you have had a recall for a mammogram after wls?  Anyone know if wls affects the density of the breasts?

I went in last week for my first mammogram ever (I'm 40), and got a call back today that they need additional images on both breasts.  It kind of has me freaked out a bit!  I've lost over 100 lbs since December.  But, they don't have one to compare it to from before, so not sure about this!

Anyone else have this happen?

fibro cystic breasts run in my family so when I got the call for a repeat Mammogram I was kinda worried and kinda not.....Was very relieved that after every 6 months  for 2 years nothing had changed in either the mammogram or the ultra sounds which were done

good luck and try not to over worry this... you will get to the bottom of it soon enough..hang in there...

Hi Lisa:

when you have a mammogram they are very thorough and check closely.  Anything that might indicate something abnormal gets rechecked so this is too soon to worry.

Good answers already provided, however, I did want to add something:

Yes WLS can affect the density of your breasts.....they are now 38 long....as opposed to 38C.  Makes it easier to have a mammogram as they can fold and be squished in the two plates.
