I see a lot of people suggest the following...

Chap Stick, Non slip slippers, Entertainment ( ex. Books, Magazines, laptop or phone), Toothpaste and Toothbrush, your own pillow, Light fitting clothes for the ride home.

I am pretty sure I am missing some stuff...

Where are you having your Surgery?

Kleenex  they do not supply them any more. Soap, beside comfortable clothes to wear home big and loose. is very important. Hair brush.  House coat  was important to me. If you have sleep apnea you need to take your machine. Make sure you leave rings, earrings etc at home. Take a list of your meds they will ask what you are on.  Good Luck

For sure ear plugs - i had a screamer on my floor and a loud roommate.

Slippers for walking the halls. I brought pjs but didn't wear them, but i did put on underwear as soon as i could (felt way too exposed!)

I brought books and magazines, but didn't read much.

Cell phone and charger - i felt very disconnected from the world so this was a lifesaver to chat with friends, check news, etc.

Best wishes!
