Finally have my next appointment - seems like it's taken ages from when I had my NP appointment! But I certainly shouldn't be complaining since originally both the NP and SW were booked for October! I am just so, so impatient. Everyone says the time flies, but I think it only flies in hindsight after the surgery is done ;) Right now it feels like foreverrrrr.

Anyway, I've gone back and read a few posts about what to expect at the SW appointment, so hopefully I am well prepared. Monday at 2 can't come fast enough!!

Your ready pal, not much you can really prepare for I think for your SW appointment. Just be honest with your answers. It's pretty much a scripted meeting of questions. You will do great angry

Starting weight: 334 lbs.Starting opti weight: 323 lbs, Surgery weight 303 lbs.Surgery-May 21st, 2013 with Dr Hagen at HRRH Goal weight 165 lbs reached at 13 months. Current weight 156 lbs

I agree that it's a scripted bunch of questions. Finances, support post surgery, etc.. My gal was a bit slow out of the starting block, stumbled a number of times during the interview and then, looked like she was going to have a stroke when she found out I was a hospital social worker as well! TOO funny. Very different fields mind you (I work in acute care) but, she had herself a quiet little fit just the same.

My take on the whole SW interview: they want to make sure you can afford the optifast, the vitamins later on and, that someone will be there to help for a period post surgically.

You'll breeze through it.  You've done the hard part:  you've committed to have surgery!

Good luck! :-)

Thanks ladies! Luckily I have lots of support from my Mom and my sister in law, and I think if I can afford all the crap I've been eating up to this point then affording Opti and then the vitamins should be no problemo ;)

Don't worry, honestly I was the same.

My take is that the SW wants to ensure you 'social world' is set up any the Psy looks internal.

Breathe, it will be fine.
