Exciting day!
Oh man. You've got way more patience than I do, that's for sure! I can't believe that MRI's are booked all the way in to January, that's crazy. I'm not sure how that works, I guess you're not able to choose where you get it done? As a way or shortening the wait? I think it's really great that you've been able to let go of the timeline though - as much impatience as I've had in this process, I am a believer that things will happen as they're meant to. We still need to be proactive and stay on top of things, but there's only so much pushing of the system we can do. So it sounds like you're in a good head space in that regard? That being said, I really really hope you're able to have surgery before Jan 6th!!
Definitely when it comes to the wedding your patience will pay off. I mean, it's not like you'd be any less beautiful getting married sooner, or that the wedding would be any less lovely, fun etc. But if you feel like it would be more fun, you'd feel more beautiful, you'd feel more confident when you're closer to your goal weight - then I'd definitely wait! And hopefully your partner is on board to wait too - I know you mentioned he was hoping to have the wedding sooner rather than later. Although if it's already been six years I'm sure another two, in the grand scheme of things, isn't the end of the world. Which is easy for me to say, lol. But I do hope everything happens speedily for you once you hear from TWH!!!
Thanks so much, Katie! I think spending as much time on here as possible and reading most posts has helped me gain perspective. There are people with short waits, long waits, complications, really bad health issues that are a lot worse than mine... everyone's journey is different. I realized that dwelling on the wait and setbacks isn't helping me, it just made me more stressed and prone to comfort eating. So, I'm just letting whatever will be, be, and making positive changes in a baby step way. Better eating, more activity - I used my oh so prevalent free time today to walk and then use Just Dance 4 as light aerobics. Though I was sweaty enough it didn't feel light... but it's more fun than walking and less embarrassing than going to an actual aerobics class.
As for John, I think he gets that I need to get some of my ducks in a row before I will be happy to have a wedding party. I also have bigger worries like a long term career plan (or short term one, outside temping) than a party. Besides, it's all hypothetical until he proposes ;)
