From marathon to hospital - boo

Just thought I'd report that on Wednesday I ate lunch and almost immediately after I was in intense pain. I thought I was really bad gas, admit stomach proofed up huge. But I could barely walk and eventually I was on the floor. My co-worker convinced me to go to the hospital. Down to St. mike's I went and they took me in right away and got me pain meds fast. Try first talked about maybe a gall stone hanging around (I had my gallbladder removed in July), but then they worried about obstruction. I had a CT scan and they could see there was a blockage of some sort. Went in to surgery for a look see at 4 pm yesterday and they found that the fat lining on the outside of our stomachs called omentum had wrapped itself around my colon, which had adhesions from the RNY. I think I have that right. I'm a bit drugged still. So the sudden pain was from the final wrap around the colon.
So they won't guarantee it won't happen again, and I'm lucky I came in. Feeling like I've been punched in the stomach 1,000 times. But I'm still here. Won't be running anytime soon lol

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
