Opti frustation
Maybe TMI but I need to know from others who have done OPTI
I am a total GAS bag! WOW... it is out of control. When I was at PRATS today the nurse chuckled a bit and said maybe cause of the Opti. GEEEEE thanks for the feedback.
I also am having washroom issued. I am taking fibre in my shakes that the first nurse told me months ago. Now this nurse is told me to take Benefibre. I will buy it tomorrow.
I’m shocked that I have only lost 5 lbs and I am a very large lady. What’s up with that??
I’m used to the shake and liking them with the syrup. Chocolate and coconut is my fav.
I am just frustrated with side effects and the lack of lbs not disappearing.
Maybe this is more a vent then anything.
Definitely hang in there. I was exactly the same - pretty gassy but nothing I could do about it. I was constipated the entire time and the only thing that helped was Senekot (which is the only thing that's helping me post-op too) I was on it for 4 weeks and started at 411 - I only lost 15 lbs in those 4 weeks. Which was BEYOND frustrating, especially when I saw people losing 20+. But I lost quite a bit in the week after surgery and it's adding up. Just keep your head down and focus on surgery day. I liked Opti but hated the emotional/mental/physical side effects. I was horrible the entire time :p When surgery is over Opti will seem like a distant memory and you'll be so happy you toughed it out. Hang in there!!!
I think it's just the regular kind - it just says Senekot on the label. Small brown tablets. I've had no issues swallowing them post-op. It's not immediate relief - usually 8-10 hours but if I've left it too long and feel a bit sick I'll take three tablets and that gets things going within a few hours.
You can do it Mandy , Pick up some gas-x maybe.
In orientation they told us benefibrre but that the factory had burned down so I have had a really tough time finding it but i found something pretty close at shoppers drug mart which is essentially the same - both silica fiber
Try to keep your mind off the lbs - remember that this is just a kinda a pre stage and the less you lose now the more you can count as post op lbs!
