Everyone seems to be different on this one - it seems like lots have started working their ab/core muscles earlier than 3-4 months with no ill effect. I had a bad experience with pulling an ab muscle pretty early out so that scared me off doing any core exercises until about 3.5 months. So I guess my recommendation is to listen to TWH and wait :) But there are others who started earlier and were fine. I can tell you pulling one of those healing muscles is excruciating, but at around 2.5 months you're further along than I was when I pulled it... Soooo I'd say listen to your gut and maybe start slow, try some things that are "light" exercises first. Or stick to the guidelines and wait. It's really up to you!

you really need to be careful about causing injury to your abdominals (your stomach is the organ, the abdominals are the muscles you'd be working). You can cause a hernia.

You really should wait for the time period TWH is telling you... It's for your own safety and well being. There really is no rush for these types of things. Take care of your stomach area and don't over do it.
