I had medically documented evidence from my family doctor (had gone in due to rashes, infections) and the most telling was a referral to the plastic surgeon from my gynecologist who was unable to perform my open hysterectomy due to a rash on the day of my surgery (I was on the table, prepped and even had the happy juice already!). OHIP is willing to pay if it is a medical necessity.
