Are you still sleeping on your back? I found I had a lot of lower back pain from that..... Also, any UTI issues? That can cause lower back pain also... Just a thought.

No I have been sleeping on my side before I left the hospital....I don't think there are any issues with UTI..

Hi Marilyn.

How are your bowels working?  Sometimes I find if things aren't moving so well in that department my lower back tends to hurt quite a bit. Another thing is that you could also be pmsing?

Hope you feel better.

I had a while where my back was sore. Basically, I had this until my spine re-aligned.  It was so used to carrying the extra weight, that when it didn't it had to adjust.  I also get lower back pain when my bowels are full.

If it's mid back pain, it could be gallbladder.

For the first, you could try to see a chiropractor or a massage therapist to see if they can ease the pain.

Have you called your centre?  There are a few issues related to the surgery that could cause back pain.  Hope you find out what's causing it.

3 weeks post op and same for me but sometimes it also hurts where my kidneys are. My Nurse practitioner told me it was because of the weight shifting, the way we carry ourselves because of our stiches and the way we sit and sleep. Massages really helps. It is getting better. Hope you get relief soon and if not call your clinic and ask questions. Take care!

Maricw,  I thought I was the only one with this issue, I attributed it to the fact that I was walking about a mile each morning, something I never did before.  Then, I thought maybe my kidneys,  but now I see others are saying it may be the weight shifting and causing this very strained feeling in my back. Just 2 months out for me, and I sure hope it subsides soon. I am still pretty top heavy, so maybe that is some of it as well...hope you feel better!
