Wow that's great Pat, congrats. Always liked to be a swimmer but my mom was scared i'd drown and never taught us. Now that i'm grown, i'm scared of drowning. But good for you.

My mom grew up near the beach of Lake Ontario and never learned to swim because her mom was afraid of the water. She put all of us in swim lessons since they were free and gave us something to do in the summer.

I am sure you will find some activity you like as well.

That's a great accomplishment.  I am just waiting on some warm weather and to get the final clearance from my surgeon (from my hysterectomy and bladder repair) to start swimming in my neighbours pool.  Plus my golden retriever loves to dive into the pool and do laps with me...

You have inspired me once again, Pat.

Congratulations on a great achievement.

Vicky

Congratulations Pat   As an older girl myself, I find you inspiring.  Right now I could not even swim one length, or ride a bike any distance.  Reading how amazing you are doing now, post wls, gives me hope. Thanks for all your sharing.

Thanks. I think after years of sitting on the side lines the weight loss has made me challenge myself to se what I can do. I am sure as you lose weight you will find you have so much more energy. You just have to decide how you want to channel it. Good luck

Congratulations Pat, that is a really long swim! So awesome to hear that the nsv are still coming at 3.5 years out.  Have you ever tried water jogging?  I did this when I tore the meniscus in my knee and I liked the vigorousness of it. I used a floatation device around my waist in the deep end and basically you just run in the water. It is a heck of a workout! Here is a video about it:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj4dDM-xqvs
