One Year Ago Today!

So a year ago today I went in for a gastric bypass and it was without a doubt the best thing I did for me! I'm a 145 lbs lighter both in my weight and in my soul.   I have a few more lbs to go but all is good. I could not have done this without the super support of my friends and family who helped out during my recovery and continue to encourage and support me through this process. And the opportunity to read some of the most inspiring stories on the forum has helped me get through some of the moments when you want to reach for the chocolate or the chips!

This surgery was the right thing for me to do and for any of you wondering if it's right ... read the forum and do your research, it's a decision you have to make for yourself but I haven't looked back yet!

That's great news, and very inspiring! You've done really well in your first year!!!!

I love hearing stories of people a year or two out to see how they are doing. It just reinforces for me that I'm making the right decision.

I wish you continued success!!

I've always read the first year is the honeymoon phase ... I'm know I'm really going to have to work it now!

You've done so well! May take a bit more effort or perhaps just patience if weight loss comes off more slowly after the honeymoon stage, but you'll get there! Keep up the good work.

Sincere congratulations.  I believe I will feel the same way and when I am questioned if it is "too extreme" a decision to make, I tell them that I have done the research, am going through the process and it appears to be the right decision for me.  We should never look back.  Monumental success; you should be proud.

Isn't it amazing what a year can do ????

Congratulations....keep your eye on the prize.  Expect that things will get tougher as time goes on....but success is always possible.  It's always going to depend on the choices you make each day.
